- Celebrating Fifty years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
- For the first time, a contingent of the Armed Forces of Bangladesh will participate in the Republic Day Parade in Delhi. This troop will comprise 122 jawans of Bangladesh.
- This year is also the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh's liberation struggle.
- This is the third time that a military force from any other country is participating in the Republic Day celebrations here. Earlier in 2016, France and in 2017 United Arab Emirates legion took part.
- India has given special importance to the participation of a large party of a neighboring friendly country in the 72nd Republic Day celebrations.
- The Bangladesh contingent will be led by Commander Lt Col Abu Mohammad Shahnoor Shan and his deputy Lt Farhan Isharaq and flight lieutenant Sibat Rahman.
- The contingent will include Bangladesh Army soldiers, Bangladeshi Navy sailors, and Bangladesh Air Force air warriors.
- This Bangladesh armed force is excited to participate in the 72nd Republic Day celebrations at Rajpath in Delhi.
- A total of 18 contingents of the armed forces, paramilitary forces, Delhi Police, NCC, and NSS will participate in the parade along with 36 bands in the Republic Day parade in Delhi. The parade's "full dress rehearsal" took place on Saturday morning.
